Time has been flying, February already...I missed a few months and I wasn't even hibernating.
Sometime I need to learn more about this blog stuff, there are so many fun blogs and designs and ways to do things. I feel a little overwhelmed at times, wait I feel a lot overwhelmed most of the time on staying up with technology, among other things. But the main purpose of my blog is not to be fancy dancy but to be our family journal and remember the simple and sweet moments, and even the hard ones at this time in our lives and if anyone else cares to see what we've been up to that's icing on the cake;)
At the beginning of January Daniel's side of the family all got together and went to the new Science Centre. It was tonnes of fun! I even got sucked into buying a membership...so if anyone wants to go, give me a call:) I thought it would be a great place to go on the cold winter days, but this winter has been actually pretty warm (don't worry I'm knocking on wood right now).

Our boy turned 6 months old and is sitting superbly and trying oh so very hard to crawl, he gets so frustrated because he can get up on his knees, but then as he tries to move forward, falls on his tummy. He is getting quite the personality and I'm thinking he's going to be as stubborn as Edyn. Yikes. He grabs anything he can see and puts it all in his mouth. He gets upset when we have to take something away from him. He slept for the first time last night 8 hours with no feedings at all! This is definitely a miracle as the longest he's slept before that was 3 hours. We did make him cry it out and I had to go to the basement where I couldn't hear him and have Daniel go in every 5-10 minutes to reassure him. I was so glad to see him smile at me this morning, fearing he would hate me.
He loves sitting in the laundry basket and playing with his toys
Edyn and I went on a pumpkin muffin baking spree and I won't say how fast we ate them. I want to make her an apron one of these days, but for now she's wearing my apron from Germany that looks so cute on her, she choose her head band too, one flower was not enough, and yes she needed a butterfly on it as well.
Playing dolls in our fort

A couple of weeks ago I was vacuuming and Linkyn and Edyn were playing in my bedroom. Edyn loves to shut doors, and so had shut our bedroom door. As I went to check on them I realized she had locked the door as well. About a month ago Daniel and I had talked about how we need to get a different door knob as it is a key lock (which we don't have a key for) and Edyn might lock Linkyn in there sometime. I really wasn't worried because she's been opening and shutting doors for quite some time now and hadn't done it yet. Well lets just say I kind of freaked out as I realized the door was locked. A pen wouldn't work to open it, the hinges and screws for the doorknob were on the other side. I called Daniel at work crying, so he told me to kick the door down. I was thinking, ya right like I can do that. I grabbed his heavy winter boots and decided to give it a try. The scariest part was making sure Edyn wasn't by the door, I kept yelling to her to go by the window, but I couldn't tell for sure where she was. I knew Linkyn was safely away from the door. Well I took about 3 hard hard kicks and realized this is not going to work, the door didn't budge. I guess it was the mother adrenaline in me that with my 4th kick sent the door wide open. Thankfully Edyn listened and was by the window. The only damage to the door were black marks from the boots and some cracks. My hip hurt for a few days, but it was kind of fun to have kicked the door in. I felt like one of the cops on t.v shows. Needless to say everyone was fine and I was so happy we were all together.

Going sledding in the + 0 weather
At the end of November we got some shocking news. My sweet niece Sophie who was just 4 at the time was diagnosed with Leukemia. She lives in Arizona with her family (my brother Kyle's daughter). They do a blog for her at sophiebear.org to keep us posted on everything. It has been so incredible to read about their challenges and the strength they've recieved from the Lord. They are such an amazing family and if anyone could make it through this trial is is defienetly them. They did a run for her in Arizona (London's Run) on January 28th and since we couldn't be down there with them, we decided to do a run that same day to show our love and support for them. We ended up doing it at the church gym, as we were in Lethbridge and they had horrendous winds that day. It was a great day just to be together and think about our sweet Sophie and the little fighter that she is. We love you Sophie:)
